Mcol premier park bw legal
I parked in a private car park last July and got standard letters for pcn which business owners using the car park told me to ignore even though my gut feeling was to pay up The car park has a long history of misuse and they have tried clamping and barriers over the years Now rely on a large camera and pcn letters. They have a sign to the left with a very large P on it then in small print under it the usual blub about £100 charge contract etc
Stupidly l assumed since Gyms etc were closed due to pandemic l would be OK to park ttherewhilst l did some shopping l have limited mobility and this seemed the easiest solution l suppose my only option is to pay up
My question is the amount claimed is £164 parking £50 legal fees and £25 mcol
I don't want a judgement against me but don't want to pay them just because they have done this.
Any advice? Please be kind l know l have been silly.

Absolutely don't pay up, and remove any mention of who was driving as they have legal hoops to jump through to assume anything which they almost certainly won't have done.
This is a speculative invoice at best, with no provable loss. A car was parked in an empty car park for a closed business and signage wasn't seen, so no-one was deprived of any money or the opportunity to park. This page will cover all the details:
