    How much deposit is required?

Your deposit for a Jet2holidays booking will be £60 per person. At the time of booking you will be given the option of paying the full balance or simply paying a deposit of £60 per person, with the full balance being payable 10 weeks before departure. In the event that your booking is within 10 weeks of departure, payment must be made in full at the time of booking.

Looks promising - always worth checking though

If travel is allowed are you happy to still go on holiday with social distancing requirements probably still in force.- face masks in all public spaces. limits on capacity of beaches, restrictions on bars etc

Remember, it is not just the situation in this country but the situation in the country you are going to.

To be honest, no. We'd rather cancel one way or another and wait until things are relatively relaxed and a lot less stressful.

I think the thing to do is wait until nearer the deadline to cancel and only lose our deposit while hoping Jet2 cancel first.

Just to confirm with JET2 £60pp is their full deposit so that is all you would lose if you were to cancel.

Neither Jet2 nor any other operator will cancel May holidays in March unless Boris warns that holidays are off the agenda (as Ms Sturgeon appears to have done this afternoon). They can wait until it is clear that the holiday cannot go ahead which may only be 7-14 days before departure. Allegedly Jet2 have three plans in place, depending on whether they restart in May, July or September. If you are convinced you do not want to travel, then cancel before you are into higher cancellation charges

If the FO still advises against travel to Spain then Jet 2 will cancel the holiday and you will be entitled to a refund. If it changes  then presumably quarantine would no longer be in place.

Testing will probably be though so if the FO no longer advises against travel to Spain in May then you will likely either have to test or cancel. You won't be entitled to a refund if the holiday runs but Jet 2 may offer some flexibility nearer the time.
Yeah, I think we're going to want to cancel either way, we're all anxious about travelling at the moment even without the extra costs. I was really just wondering whether it was worth hanging on until Jet2 cancels the trip but knowing our luck they won't and we'll lose all our money
You could also ask if they will transfer your deposit to new booking next year.  Long shot but if they wont just cancel.

    When's the balance due?

    It's already paid up

  • Have you tried asking jet2 if you could postpone the holiday until next year maybe? Obviously only if that's an option for you.
