Hello all.
My wife has had a regular saver with YBS for just over a year (2.5% @ £250/month) but due to branch opening hours and being key workers we didn’t have the opportunity to close this account until today. No problems with the closure, always found YBS branch staff to be excellent. My wife was told just prior to actual closure that they have some new accounts coming aimed at existing customers. The first, we won’t qualify for as our relationship with YBS is only 12 months, plus a few weeks but it’s a 3% “something”, presumably a regular saver? From what was said in branch, communication will be by post. Another product is coming shortly after which she will qualify for but no further details offered.
Might be a ruse to keep a customer but if not there may be some benefits to keeping membership. £3k removed but the interest is still there to, hopefully, qualify for something worth taking up?

Not sure if there is a question in there or if you're highlighting some offers (or a little of both) but we've had two YBS RS mature over the past 12 months and have moved funds online (a day before 'maturity date' in actual fact as that's when interest was added).0

I was just trying to give a “heads up” whilst explaining. I don’t use YBS myself - the 2.5% offer suited my wife at the time. She says the online banking is shocking, hence the preference for a branch visit.2

Ok - fingers crossed for the heads-up.
Let's hope some decent offers crop up soon.
Transferring online should definitely be kept on your radar. My RS3 (only 1% and for a year) matured at the weekend.
Works well.1 -
Can't wait to find out what was misunderstood..0

That’s a good deal in the current climate! Sadly we don’t qualify as my wife opened the account in Jan 2020. She was told that something else would be along shortly after for those that don’t qualify for the initial offering, so fingers crossed!2

It's a good tip - thanks to the OP!
