Rejected by EE

Hi all
I hope that you are well in these weird and wonderful times. I recently placed an order for an EE mobile deal via Affordable Mobiles. For some reason, my application went to the credit referral stage with EE, and after a brief conversation with EE, my application was cancelled.
I’ve checked both Experian and Equifax and my credit report and rating are both in good shape, so I’m not sure why it was rejected and EE won’t provide any further info.

I had a previous account with EE that ended in 2018, with no issues. However on checking my credit report, I noticed 3 months at the end of the contract that was marked as U or Zzz before it was marked as settled. I don’t know what this is for but EE have now corrected it. Could this have been the issue? They’ve still rejected my application.
What happens if I apply again? Now that those markers are off, I’m wondering if it will go through?
Any help would be appreciated

EE aren't going to care what's on your credit files from themselves as they already have access to that data internally.
U markers aren't a negative anyway so they won't be the cause of your rejection.1 -
Thank you for your response. Are they required to tell me why I don’t meet their criteria or can they just say no?The credit agencies have said that they can see no reason why I would be declined based on my reports.0

To be honest it's neither here nor there what the CRA's think, until they start selling mobile phone contracts anyway.0 -
Thanks. If I apply again, am I likely to be rejected again? Ordinarily I’d go elsewhere however I live in a village where the signal is poor other than EE.0

Check Credit Karma (TransUnion) and give it a month or so, or try for a sim-only deal0

The usual advice when applying for credit is to wait at least 6 months before applying to the same lender. Can't see mobile phone companies being much different.0 -
If you can’t secure a contract with EE chose another supplier that supports WiFi calling (and check your phone has that function). With that option it doesn’t matter if the provider has poor signal in your area - you can route all calls/texts via the your home WiFi.0

If you keep getting rejected and you can’t see a reason why check what information CIFAS holds on you0

Thanks all
I applied for sim only and they’ve rejected that too, so clearly there is something a miss. I’ve applied to see what CIFAS holds on me, and I will submit a DSAR request with EE and see if I can figure out what’s going on. It’s really frustrating.0 -
