Lost ISA investment

Hi, I'm after some advice about an ISA I took out in 2005. I have just contacted the company who have my investment with details including account number but they say they have no records of it. They advised accounts sold or transferred over 6 years ago would have been deleted in line with regulations. The trouble is, I haven't touched it. I realise I should have noticed I wasn't receiving annual statements and chased it earlier but thought it would be OK as I didn't want to take the money out. I haven't changed address during this time so cannot understand what could have happened. Can anyone advise what options are available to me, if any. Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thank you.
Thank you.

You could try submitting a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act, to force them to disclose all data they hold relating to you, but if they still say there isn't any then your options will be limited. Which company is it and when did you last receive any information relating to the account?1

I suggest your write to them enclosing a copy of your most recent statement.

I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.1 -
You mention "investment", so the assumption would be this isn't a cash ISA. Is that correct? There are different processes for tracking down lost investment accounts vs savings accounts. The company should be able to inform you who they sold this type of account to when they exited the market. If the company is not being cooperative then it would be worth raising a formal complaint and perhaps even taking it to the Financial Ombudsman. Simply stating they have no record of the account and that it might have been sold or transferred elsewhere (not our problem any more), is not acceptable. Failing that...If it is a cash ISA, then there is https://www.mylostaccount.org.uk/There is an equivalent service for investments run by Experian, but it is not free: https://www.uar.co.uk/ You could also try https://www.vestigium-services.com/consumer/home

Thanks for the advice.
The company is Invesco Perpetual and it was a share ISA UK smaller companies which they still have available. Unfortunately although I did have statements a long time ago I have only kept my original paperwork which I have sent a copy already. I will investigate the options you advise.0
