It's not "unsafe" to answer, unless you will fall for their lies. Worse case is you hang up.
  • I bought a TrueCall several years ago, it's stopped 99.9% of the spam calls in their tracks. The odd one that does try to get passed the screening gets manually dropped and blocked,

I have caller display & get a lot of calls like this. I don't answer any calls from numbers I don't recognise & once the answer phone picks up, the call is usually disconnected pretty quickly. Sometimes they are just computer generated calls, hoping to get a live person  answer the phone.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

42 is the country code for Czech Republic, the leading 00 indicating an international number.

Stop worrying about whether its genuine or where its from or wherever.  If you don't recognise the number don't answer it.  Then forget about it and carry on with whatever you were doing before the phone rang.

I’m sure I’m in the minority in that I’ve never had or at least answered a scam call , but TBH , I’d quite like to string one of these scammers along for as long as possible before telling them to **** off,  there is no danger ( as such ) just by answering apart from they will now know it’s a ‘live’ number, they ( or the algorithm) probably ring thousands of invalid or not in service numbers  per day, knowing it a live number may possibly be noted as one to try again sometime

I’ve read of people doing that, It can be a good laugh for one side
