Spending review - if you dare

I was sitting at my desk today, daydreaming away when I suddenly realised...
I have bought 10 pairs of shoes this year!
I'm off to work out how much they cost in total. I had absolutely no idea I was such a frivolous spender. I thought I was pretty good and hardly ever treated myself - clearly not
Then in the car on the way home I was listening to Martin on Radio 2 and he mentioned his 12, 52, 250, 365 rule and it inspired me to come on here and confess. So come on, have a look back at 2007 and see where your money has really gone. How much have those little treats cost you?

Right, I've just worked it out and the 10 pairs come to a grand total of £326! Yikes. Some of that was birthday money but even so, that's no excuse.
Anyone else??
I'm going to work out the haircuts now.0 -
Oh I wish you hadn't mentioned haircuts

and I still have my hair coloured

That's nearly £450 this year
(but I do look gorgeous)0 -
On the positive side.....with so many shoes in your cupboard, you won't need to spend money on them in 2008!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Speaking of shoes, I still have a pair that I brought in debenhams in the year 2000. Cost me £20 then, and all I have done to them is change the laces once.
In January I will be keeping all the reciepts from anything I purchase and writing down when I spend money.. This will show any area's that I waste money on.Why do people feel the need to keep up with the Jones's ?? Why do some people feel the need to out do there friends and family ?? is this real happiness ??0 -

True. Although most of them were impulse buys. Now I can see how much I really spent, I wish I'd been careful and bought 3 beautiful, well planned pairs which could have lasted years.
I'm still plucking up the courage to look back on my diary and count the haircuts to add them up.0 -
Money does that for me at the end of the year, very very scary reading :eek:No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Haven't bought a pair of shoes for over 10 years, and as for haircuts thanks for pointing out to me the advantage of being bald:o
