    There is hope!

Just received a letter from SP confirming my credit with YE and saying a cheque will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.

Thankfully I don't believe I have a credit balance with YE, time will tell if true
Assuming that you gave YE regular meter readings and you gave readings to SP when requested, there's no reason why you can't calculate what you either owe or are owed by YE yourself.
I did, that's why I don't believe I have a credit balance. My SP account has been closed with a final meter reading since January and that did have an opening reading not so dissimilar to those given to YE administrators early December.  Hence why I'm not annoyed, the money stays in my bank account due to ineptitude of YE administrators in billing me.

  • I still haven’t had £250 from tonik and I chase it all the time I’m getting pretty annoyed 😒 I have even forwarded Scottish power my final bill we are two mths ahead of Yorkshire Emery take over
  • As an ex YE customer, I knew the risk I was taking when I went with them - which is the similar risk you take when you deal with any business.  Some risks are greater than others, as I found out with YE.  Over the past four years I have saved hundreds of pounds by going with the smaller providers, so I can put up with the extra I have had to spend with SP.  The other alternative is that someone came round to my home on 6 December and disconnected my gas and electricity, until  I managed to transfer to someone else.
  • Used the link to make a complaint via the Ombudsman and less than a week later a cheque arrives for £136 from Scottish Power, being the amount of credit in my YE account. Still have not received a final bill or any communication from SP bar the cheque. Pleased with the advice on this forum.

Still waiting on my final bill and refund of credit over here. I had to chase Scottish Power myself just to find anything out - I didn't even get an email telling me YE had gone bust until I tried to send them my final readings for a switch I had instigated a few weeks prior.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.

Anyone else *still* waiting for their final bill and credit refund?

Judging by the YE website id assume that there's no staff left there now.

I left YE in November, and they collapsed before issuing my final bill 4 months later.  From mid-March till mid-May I heard nothing despite chasing.  Sent contactUs at ScottishPower.com an email headed formal complaint.  They acknowledged with an email to say it had been passed to the relevant team, then silence again.  Something was done at their end though as a cheque appeared at the start of June to the address where I asked for my final credit to be posted to.  Whole process took over 6 months...
