What condition to leave walls in

Hi everyone
We are moving in a couple of weeks and im starting to take down pictures and shelfs etc, the walls are plaster board so some things needed plaster board anchors to hold in place. I am planning on contacting the buyer to ask her if she wants me to take out the anchors and fill the holes (which im happy to do) or would she want someone professionally to do it. Just want to check what is the minimum that you need to put right when moving out?

I wouldn't expect the previous owner to remove the anchors or fill in the holes. They may want even them in the same location you have them. Let them do it when they move in, if they want.2

i am In the same position as you lucky i have paint left for all my rooms so i plan to fill and paint it all, shelves, tvs, stair gates, pictures there will be loads to do.

I wouldn't stress about it too much either way, it's leaving chunks of plaster missing which would be more problematic. Asking what they'd prefer seems fine.0

That was my thought, ill leave the anchors with the screws left in to re-use if they wish. Ill just fill in any holes from rawlplugs.dan958 said:I wouldn't expect the previous owner to remove the anchors or fill in the holes. They may want even them in the same location you have them. You're the seller. I think you mean the buyer.
And, yes, if you unscrew things from walls, you are meant to make good.0 -
I wouldn't bother painting as the buyer is likely to redecorate. Save your energy for your next house. Leave the paint with the house with a note saying which rooms it matches for the buyer to use if they like the color scheme.charliesmith125125 said:i am In the same position as you lucky i have paint left for all my rooms so i plan to fill and paint it all, shelves, tvs, stair gates, pictures there will be loads to do.0 -
our previous owners left all the picture hooks/shelves etc still in, which we were fine with as have hung up pictures in the same place until we get around to painting, and we did the same with our old house and left all the picture hooks in for the new people to do as they please0

Not worried about the painting so much as it will take a few minutes but when i remove the things like stair gates and tvs there will be alot of damage to brick work and plaster board i want to take these massive raw plug/ anchor things with me so it will be better to fill them in then bung some paint over to look like they were never there. Its a quick job and i think this is the way i would like to find the house if it was me moving in. lol

ABSOLUTELY the right way to look at it!charliesmith125125 said:i think this is the way i would like to find the house if it was me moving in.0 -
When I moved into my house there were rawl plugs everywhere. Any shelves I buy aren't going to match up with the existing rawl plugs. Would have appreciated if the previous owner had removed them. Especially given he was a plasterer and probably could have done a neater job than me. Craters everywhere...charliesmith125125 said:Not worried about the painting so much as it will take a few minutes but when i remove the things like stair gates and tvs there will be alot of damage to brick work and plaster board i want to take these massive raw plug/ anchor things with me so it will be better to fill them in then bung some paint over to look like they were never there. Its a quick job and i think this is the way i would like to find the house if it was me moving in. lol0
