Morning all
Thinking of you today Ruby
I'm in work this morning, then it's half term. Can't really tell if theres been a tiny bit more snow but it hasn't thawed at all. Better move x16 -
Good morning everyone.
Thinking of Ruby, her DM and family as they face this very sad day.
Looks very cold out there, Mr Blackbird is tucking into the mealworms I put out for them last thing.
Today is my little jaunt up to the market, not much to get, enough food to open a shop here. I have ordered a meal to be delivered today, it is advertised as restaurant quality food, frozen and ready to pop into the oven, roast beef and roast pork ordered to share, good reviews, so fingers crossed. I have a bowl of a GF concoction that has been bubbling away overnight, aiming to try and make some GF crumpets shortly - wish me luck, hope it is not going to be more food for the birdies.
Stay safe, warm and well all. Hugs and spoons all available..The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)14 -
Morning
Ruby today will be incredibly tough there is no doubt. Be comforted that all your OS friends will be with you in mind if not in body. I will also raise a glass to your beloved Steve xx
Another day of "someones coming round" cleaning. He'd better turn up now or I'll have to mess it all up again. I have to say I have a bit of spring in my step today as yesterday my mum FINALLY got her vaccine. Nurse was in and out in 5 mins and no side effects so far. Its a real weight off my shoulders and I definitely slept better last night. Mum is planning which rave she's going to attend first
Food today will be a steak pie with chips and veg

Ruby, I hope things go as well as they can under such horrible circumstances.
This is the first chance I've had to post for several days but needless to say there is nothing new to relate. Steve finally got his vaccine letter yesterday so I'm glad he was proactive and organised it himself because he's nearly two weeks post vaccine now. My friend's husband was vaccinated at the same time (he has leukaemia) but because he has aphasia from a stroke and can't speak she had to go in with him and they vaccinated her as well, lucky thing.
Esben hasn't been well for a few days but had a better night last night so hopefully he's over whatever it was. Laura's got college today so we'll be baby wrangling again.14 -
Morning all,My thoughts are with RedRuby and her family today, your tribute to your brother was lovelyDH has just popped to work for a bit, I think he wants to check that DS is feeling ok running the job & he gets fidgety at home- he needs a hobby! Having said that, the renovation job is for friends of ours so he needs to know it's going well. I think DS has stepped up to the mark while we had Covid, I know he thinks DH should ease up a bit now. Yesterday we did a longer walk to try and up our stamina a bit, I am still a bit breathless if we go up a hill but it's early days yet.I'm going to try a soup recipe that was with my veg box delivered yesterday, white bean soup. The only thing is I forgot to soak the beans so I'll have to use my instant pot for them, you can cook unsoaked beans in it, it being a pressure cooker but I'll have to get the instructions outTake care all xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all, late on parade, so apologies.Just had the post and we've got the dates for our jabs, 18th Feb at the Stadium, mine at 10am and Mr Fix It at 12, why couldn't they do them together ? I think they missed him in his wave and I really shouldn't complain but it's caught me on a raw day.Anyway I have stripped the bed and put the bedding in the wm, zero chance of putting it out as it's freezing and still -2, I'd have stiff boards to contend with later. I'm going to give the bedroom a good going over, that should take me most of the rest of day as I want to give it a sort of spring clean, then I'll re-make the bed. We shall have steak and kidney pie for tea.Ruby My heart goes out to you all and I'm sending you lots of love and hugs for you and your family on such a sad day.Right washing finished I'll get on and make a start on the deep cleaning.Take care all, stay safe and keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13

Moring all, late me too. I didn't go to bed until 3, just one of those things where sometimes, you're knackered and you really want to go to bed but you just can't be bothered to brush teeth etc. Just put the magic cupboard on, will empty it later. Made pizzas last night [ snap AOD!] and there were leftovers so I'll have mine for breakfast/lunch/brunch. I'll give the giant beanbag a shake in a minute. We lay a soft throw over the top and the cat sleeps on that. I was thinking about changing the shape so it becomes one of those bean bag chairs. And guess who didn't make it to the post office yesterday so that's on todays list.Ruby, he sounds like a lovely person. I hope you all cope today. I'll be thinking of you.Snoozer and Nelski, glad your important people have been vaccinated. Raise a glass to huge weights off minds everywhere. Nanny, I'd ring the surgery and explain, maybe they can swap you about to the same time. Neither of you should really be hanging around with lots of other people for two hours should you? Rosy, don't push yourself too much, it'll come back...Hey all reading along, stay safe, do something nice for yourselves if you can..Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Morning all.
Ruby, all my love on this horrible day. Your brother sounds as though he was one of those rare people who are truly themselves and happy in their own skin. Those people are few and far between and very, very precious. As sorry as I am for you, my heart really goes out to your poor mother, it's the wrong way round, isn't it? I don't know about the rest of you, but when I look at my two boys, I don't just see middle-aged men, I see tiny, smiley babies and mischievous little boys. I can't imagine what it must be like to lose one of them, my mind won't go there.
I half made marmalade yesterday, so that has to be finished off today and then I may, MAY, tackle the ironing pile. It's so stupid, because I quite enjoy ironing, but half the trouble is my ironing board. I had to order it online when all the shops were closed in the first lockdown. When it arrived I was horrified. It is enormous. Beautiful, but it must take a team of navvies to get it up and down again and there is only me here. I think it will last until the next century at least. Probably it will be displayed in exhibitions as a reason why early 21st century women had such well developed muscles. And squashed fingers.
