I had to contact the courts again who then eventually instructed DWP to pay what they'd been instructed to pay. They should never have stalled the payment for over a year after we won the tribunal case. 

I'm glad I battled through it. I know without my support my child would never have been able to advocate for themselves and get what was rightfully theirs. You shouldn't have to have such a fight for money that they are entitled to by law. 

We have put it all behind us now and concentrating on moving forwards and being able to put things in to place for my adult child's longer term support with the financial help they've now received. It will help them a lot more to manage their independence better.

I’ve not read everything others have wrote but wanted to add,.. around 10 years ago someone at the CAB realised I should have been getting SDP, and so we claimed and asked for a backdate for just over three years. The DWP refused, so I appealed and eventually went to Tribunal, where it was awarded and backdated.
