Was the £40 a balance on the account being switched to Barclays?1
-
I don't think there's any link to Barclays in any of this. Googling the original terms mentioned doesn't bring up Barclays particularly. Indeed the first part "BFA ACC SWITCH" seems more likely to relate to lottery payments/wins or refunds of bank charges.RG2015 said:Was the £40 a balance on the account being switched to Barclays?0 -
The OP mentioned Barclays and having a new account with them. They said the £40 was not part of the switch incentive but this could be something to do with the old account.Zanderman said:

But it wasn't part of a switch incentive or anything, and why would they pay it into my old account now when I have a new one with them. So still no idea why but less concerned.0 -
It's mine, I was wondering where it had gone. I'll send my Paypal details so you can pass it on

I know they said all that. But they specifically stated it was not to do with the switch, and a google of the term used does not, actually, suggest Barclays. As I pointed out in my reply to you. Try it - making sure you put the term in quotes, particularly the first three parts "BFA ACC SWITCH".RG2015 said:

They said it wasn't part a switch incentive, which is different to what you are saying.Zanderman said:

The OP was last active 10 February 2021 at 11:35PM. Unlikely they will respond further.2

But there is a new post, about a similar payment, just yesterday:Band7 said:The OP was last active 10 February 2021 at 11:35PM. Unlikely they will respond further.
Which it seems helpful to reply to. Which is why I posted yesterday.wendy81 said:I'm with barclays, I've not had it but my mum and sister have both noticed the same thing today and they aren't with barclays, could it be government? Or to do with the cost of living.
RG2015 's comments seem to be reacting to the OP's post, and the alleged Barclays link.
Which, as I pointed out in reply, is probably a red herring.
Maybe Wendy81, who posted yesterday, will add more info. Or maybe they won't!0
