Yeah I wonder if it's because people don't realise they are still in the draw when they entered previously. Another reason could be that it seems on the radio that they call live on air around 4:50 but they actually make the calls much earlier.IainHL said:

As someone else said if they answer within 5 rings and say the phrase they win that day's prize amount. I know sat here it seems bizarre that having entered the competition somebody would answer their phone just after 4:00pm and say "hello", but I guess it can be very hard to overcome the conditioning. I just hope that if they call me I manage to get it right!
What I find even more bizarre is that people enter the competition and then don't answer the phone when they are called. Though I do understand it a little better in the more recent versions where having entered once, possibly some time ago, your number is in the draw until the current round has finished (currently the Thursday before Easter). People could be at work, driving, forgotten, and so on. I really couldn't understand it in the earlier versions of the competition where you had to enter each new draw, and that was defined as being reset when somebody had won.5 -

Can someone please make me feel better! I received a call from 07835453671 at 3:53pm. I answered and before I could say make me a winner, they hung up or it was disconnected!
That day when they did the mmaw call it went to an O2 voicemail after a couple of rings (I have an O2 voicemail and I answered after 2 rings). Whenever I try to ring this number it also goes to a voicemail.
I'm telling myself that they wouldn't ring before 4pm, and it would probably not be a mobile number they rang from? I can't stop thinking about it!0 -
They normally ring after 4, so would say it’s definitely not them.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £18,886.272
