@Namdera try searching the phone number here on MSE, to see if anyone has won a comp from that number

I’m really hoping it wasn’t them and I haven’t missed out on £50k.
Congratulations on your win Alex was this recent?
To be fair, you’re probably better off just trying to forget about it, or assuming it was a scam call.
If it was them, there’s nothing you can do about it now, even if you do find out if the number was them.
If you can’t find out if the number definitely wasn’t them, you’ll just send yourself crazy wondering …
    Wins - £48k 2019, £5k 2020, £1000 2021, £280 2022 ... £196k to the £1/4 million target ...

@Namdera - I had a thought about your missed call … if you call the number & it’s a dead tone, or doesn’t connect, then it’ll have been a scam type call … they frequently hide behind “real” looking numbers (with NDC’s), but when you try to call them back they don’t exist … that’s against the MCOB rules, so the radio station (or any genuine business) wouldn’t call you from a number you can’t contact them back on …

  • The whole concept is too cruel in my opinion.

Yeah it's a cruel concept in my opinion letting people forget the phrase and then telling them how much they could have won.  I don't care about excuses like it's a business, these are real people having their heads messed with.

I can't remember if it's one of these comps, either this one or the cash register one - I've heard the presenter say that you could receive a call just after 3pm/4pm.  Then just before they've played the recording, the presenter has said "stay by your phones, as you could be receiving a call".  So maybe what @Etccarmageddon has said is true for a lot of people.

  • The girl who does the Make me a Winner calls really does mislead people. Presenters say after 4.

Even though I agree entrants should be ready to answer correctly, perhaps cutting them off straight away if they say Hello would be less evil >:)

It's an unknown/private number so they'd never know who called.
