Flight change while using a voucher

In 2020 6 of us booked an EasyJet flight for a holiday in Tuscany in May. Obviously this didn’t happen but as the owners of the villa were very helpful and allowed us to defer the holiday to this year, we did so & accepted a voucher from Easy Jet as we had every intention of using them for the holiday flight. The villa rental went from Saturday to Saturday which also coincided with the flights.

However Easy Jet have now changed the flight days to a Friday which is not suitable and the Villa owners are unable to adjust the rental as other people are booked in. We therefore asked Easy Jet for a refund as they are the company who have changed the flights, they have now informed us that as we accepted a voucher for the flights we are not eligible for a refund. Can they do that as the new flights that they rescheduled are unsuitable?

Not clear if you have already used the voucher and booked 2021 flights and subsequently the operating day has changed, or still holding the credit voucher.

If booked and Easyjet have cancelled Saturday services and moved you to a Friday service then you have a right to cancel and a refund (some debate if to another credit voucher or refund in cash).

If you are yet to use the credit voucher but the issue is over the operating day the flight on your route has been changed between 2020 (Sat) and 2021 (Fri) and no longer suits holiday plans then whilst unfortunate I don’t see a right to subsequently seek a cash refund.
