Hi Guys
I am looking to sort out my finances and one of the ways I think I could cut back is doing sim only deals, I pay for 4 deals currently a sim only deal and these amount to £65 a month.
we all need a good amount of Data especially at the moment as we are all working from home, I am currently with o2 but have done a comparison and a company calls SMARTY have come up the cheapest saving me roughly £20 per month with a better deal. Anyone used them?

Yes, but not now. They were fine. Use the Three network (I think they are Three under another name!)If you receive a good Three signal, then no reason not to go with them.No long term contract tie in and money back for unused data.I don't use much data and only left them for a more suitable, cheaper, monthly sim only with Lebara.0

If you want to stay with the O2 network then you should look at Giffgaff, Tesco Mobile, Sky or Lycamobile.0

Smarty have been faultless since we set up a smart phone for my MiL during lockdown to use video calling (she has no wifi at home). we went for the 30gb data plan with unlimited calls and texts for £10pm but really could switch to a lower rated one as she never uses more than 2gb a month!1

The money-back for unused data is only available on the lower-end deals. I was with them from the start, but have recently left them, having taken advantage of a deal they were differing but then being overcharged for the next two months, with their customer service being unwilling/unable to do anything about it.oldagetraveller1 said:

That still doesn't alter the selectively quoted text that they do refund for unused data!

I switched from O2 to Smarty in Jan 21 when my contract ended. O2 could not get anywhere the Smarty deal of £30GB of data with calls and texts for £10.00 a month. Active the SIM online once it arrives and then port your number over, it's as easy as that. Smarty's online chat is very good. They use the 3 network - my 4G speed in town is 35mb at home its slower around 5mb. They also ported my O2 number seamlessly even though the PAC code had expired a day earlier. Faultless so farMum2Boys_2 said:Hi Guys

Hello, I have just tried to use the MSE blagged Lebara deal. I signed up from the MSE link and saw the deal on my screen. I completed all the personal detail information and setup a Paypal payment regime. When I proceeded through to the next section Honey applied a discount to the account which resulted in a zero balance. I completed the exercise and a few day later the sim arrived. I went through the process of changing sim and porting my number. Suddenly there was a constant stream of text messages stating that I am out of credit, I have used up my 50 GB limit, I need to top-up my account, as top-up is activated my account has been credited.I contacted Lebara to find out what was occurring. First I was told that money had been added to my account because I had exceeded my data allowance. I told the person that I had not used my phone for anything other than a couple of text messages and two telephone calls. Then I was told that I don't have a plan. I explained that I had followed the MSE blagged plan for 3GB data, which they do not offer on their website, but was told that I do not have a plan. I was then told there was nothing further that could be done to help me. I suggested that the only thing that could be done was to cancel the contract and the person swiftly agreed. This MSE blagged option is therefore not a real option and they will take your money because you are accepted but as a PAYG customer. I have been charged £3.50 for a call that should have been included in the UNLIMITED part of the plan to which I thought I had signed up. Be very careful with Lebara because they are not, in my experience totally honest. The email they sent clearly states " ...See the remaining allowance on your mobile data plan or bundle.". That confirms that I have a plan, or does not afford me the possibility to think that I am plan less.

Reads as Honey link cancelled MSE offer. But why hijack this thread ??0

Yes I would say you signed up to the Honey deal and not MSE, as Honey overrode it.
I signed up to the MSE deal two months ago and everything has been fine.0
