Old storage heaters again

After a frustrating search in the web and calls to Dimplex sellers/customer services/technical department I was unable to determine the wattage of a 12-15 year old storage heater without knowing the model, which, I was told can only be found "by opening it" (!!!!).  The beast measures 78.5cm x 69cm from the floor and in a recent thread the information was provided  for a smaller and a larger one. Unfortunately  that thread is now closed. The formula for calculating the consumption for settings lowers than full wack  would be much appreciated because the its energy  consumption seems too high  for the setting. Thanks in advance..

Perhaps as you have not been inundated with lots of replies, you could try the Energy thread which deals with electric?

Lots of experts that can advise you there.

Rather than here on the Liquid Propane Gas, Heating Oil etc?  :)

It's really easy to open a storage heater - there will be some screws on the case usually at the bottom and sides, then pull and the cover will come off. I have to say that I can't remember ever seeing the wattage anywhere but if Dimplex says so then it's worth a go.

When the E7 cheap rate has just started, switch off all non-NSH circuits at the consumer unit, and make sure the immersion heaters are off.  Switch on one NSH and count how many times the red '1000 Imp/kWh' (impulses) red light flashes per minute.  That will allow you to work out the kW rating.  Adjust the calculation accordingly for other values such as 800 Imp/kWh.

Or going by the width (since these use the same 850W elements side-by-side, width is not a bad predictor) it looks like 2.55 kW.  e.g.
