Dcbl

Options
Today my daughter received a Notice of Debt recovery from dcbl relating to a parking charge notice she received in 2016. At the time other debt collectors were involved and She ignored all their letters, as advised by people on this forum

So out if the blue today this dcbl letter arrives
One paragraph states that a Supreme Court ruling in 2015 reinforced it is lawful for a parking notice operator to pursue payment of a parking notice through County Court
Plus there was A seen on TV “can’t pay we’ll take it away

I would normally recommend her to throw this in the bin. However she did have another parking notice that tend result in a county court letter and double the fine

I would appreciate some proper guidance on this from someone has factual information

Is this letter legit?

    as above, answer the questions

thousands of these letters have gone out recently

as for legit, depends on the definition of that word

read this common thread too, with explanations of both types

in 2016 we told everyone to appeal, not to ignore , any private pcn

the advice on this forum changed in MARCH 2013 , some 3 years prior to this pcn being issued !!

how do I know ? I have been coming here regularly since 2013 !!!

the NEWBIES faq sticky thread is dated 10th November 2013 !!!

so IGNORE was not the advice in 2016

Really not great advice. Never throw away any document that claims you owe money. The ostrich position only exposes one part of the anatomy, one that can get very badly bitten.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Ouch woahh!! Go easy please!!!
It is dcbl  - certified bailiffs and high court enforcement- bailiffs
Client is UK Parking Control Limited
By legit, I mean, can she be legally forced to pay
Thanks for the threads -  I will read while we can still get her out of this one
Or shall I just pay the 160. I am sure I saved the original letters just in case this reared it’s ugly head

No-one pays the £160.  Read the NEWBIES thread post #2.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

they are acting as debt collectors not baillifs

she can only be forced to pay if it got to couyrt and they won , why not explain what happened people on here dont charge £160 to listen , and the odd person can often see a flaw in there case and get it quoshed

just confirm england / wales or scotland/ ni because different rules apply

Ignore DCBL. They are toothless debt collectors.
If you get a letter from DCB Legal, then come back, as they are solicitors acting on behalf of the PPC.
Sidenote: Get in touch with Channel 5 and make a complaint. DCBL are infringing on the show's trademark, as it seems the producers never agreed for the show's trademark to be used in this manner.

more likely to be DCBL where the L is LTD , not LEGAL

notice the confusion because its the same L but not the same thing

she can be legally forced to pay if a judge says so , in court , same as any other court case

the claimant would have to win , in court , then she would have to NOT PAY promptly, within one month before the LEGAL side can apply to the court to send the bailiffs round

those TV programmes have a debt of over £600 enforced by a high court writ after going to an unpaid court claim first

it is you getting ahead of yourself
