iPhone replacement batteries

Is it just me who is unlucky or can anyone else relate to the following

I’m not one for the latest phone and generally keep my phones for a number of years, which means I’m almost always forced to replace the battery at some point, however no battery is ever as good as the original, every iPhone I’ve had over the last 7-8 years has had a new replacement fitted that is faulty.

I’ve had my latest iPhone 7 for around 3 years, after 2 years the original was done, so I went to my local mobile repair shop and had one fitted, it lasted 9 months before needing replaced, so I bought what I thought would be a better quality one from Replacebase, first one they sent was faulty and the 2nd one they sent has lasted 10 weeks and is now shutting off at 40% charge etc.

I’m now thinking I should just pay the extra money and get apple to replace in future as it’s obvious the aftermarket market is full of fakes, used batteries re covered to appear new etc. Or if they are new they don’t last anywhere near as long as genuine Apple batteries.

Anyone relate? Or does anyone have a good known source of decent, reliable batteries ?

I have an iPhone 6s Plus and decided to pay Apple £50 to change it as there was nothing too much wrong with the phone.

I’m glad I did as when I returned to the Apple store, they said that my phone wouldn’t switch on again. As they couldn’t say for certain why this had happened and that it wasn’t their employee that broke it, they replaced it with a new phone (same model so I didn’t get a free upgrade).

Luckily I had backed up before I went in so other than trying to remember a few passwords was up and running soon.
