How long after signing contracts can you complete?

    We exchanged today, completing Friday.   We're not in a chain and moving to empty property

    Signing indicates nothing.
    It is just one step which can be done at any point in the process. Often it is done early on so that it is out of the way. The signed contract is then stashed in the solicitor's file and forgotten about until everything else is ready.
    So the first response was right:
    Compleion could happen within minutes, or months.

    I know. I just meant in terms of how long to set up fund release etc once everything is done, which it is according to last update I had.

    My reply was in response to
    Wil probably be signing all contracts at the solicitors next week. No chain involved and the house is vacant.

    Realistically how long does it take to arrange completion day?
