How long after signing contracts can you complete?

Wil probably be signing all contracts at the solicitors next week. No chain involved and the house is vacant.

Realistically how long does it take to arrange completion day?

Anything between minutes and months (or never), it depends what else is still to be done.

Promising then. I think there's just our revised mortgage offer to come back and then all signatures.

I assume you mean from exchange of contracts, not signing? Signing can be done at any time after the contract is drafted, but it doesn't mean that you are ready to exchange.
A lot of conveyancing is being done at present on same-day exchange and completion, due to the to the risks of covid. In your situation, the gap can be minimal, assuming your funds are in place.

No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I'm assuming we will be exchanging and completing simultaneously with it being a straight forward purchase.

I just wasn't sure if the lender needed so many days notice for releasing funds etc.

Have the searches been done? Have the enquiries been answered? This will ultimately decide when you're likely to complete. We signed our contracts about 5 weeks ago but waiting on the enquiries to be answered.

All searches and enquiries done yeah. Only hold up has been getting trades to quote for work needed after the survey. Finally got quotes and negotiated a new price.

The only people who can tell you are the 2 conveyancers, and your lender.

When your solicitor requests the loan funds isn't necessarily related to when you sign anything.

5 working days to release funds seems to be typical.
