Title Plan

Hi

A lane is attached to a cottage and the title plan shows a red boundary line around the cottage and lane, the cottage being at the end of the lane. Further up the lane (within the red boundary lines) are two houses who have access to the lane and that is shaded blue to show that and the register states that. However from the cottage to the 1st house the lane has blue diagonal lines going across the lane- no blue shading. What might they mean?

Thanks.

The crosshatching probably denotes something ie a right of way etc - it’s almost impossible to help you without seeing the title plan and being able to read the deed.

Is there no key on the title plan to help you? If not it will probably tell you in the house deed.

Thanks everyone. Sorry to be vague.
In the title plan and register plan there is no mention of these symbols and what they mean or the TP and RP of next door. Only that next door seem to have right of way down to the end of lane cottage- garden boundary by looking at their TP and RP. Could it be possible the diagonal lines cancel that section of right of way? The other way is the exit to the main road. Why would they need access to the cottage?
  • Is it the only way they can access their rear garden without going through the house?

No point looking at Plans in isolation. you need to read the Title Document as well.
    Your description is strange:
A lane is attached to a cottage and the title plan shows a red boundary line around the cottage and lane, so the whole lane is owned by the owner of the cottage? the cottage being at the end of the lane. Further up the lane  If the'cottage is at the end of the lane, how can there be anything "further up the lane??    (within the red boundary lines) are two houses who have access to the lane  if the 2 houses are also within the red boundary they don't 'have access to the lane' - they are also owned by the owner of the cottage (assuming the red boundary is the cottage's boundary and that is shaded blue to show that  and the register states that.
Please quote exactly what the register says about the blue.
Have you downloaded the Titles and Plans for the other 2 houses?

Ok I need help but not sure I want to post all the TP and RPs online.
It is a strange situation too and with some historical covenants to untangle.

Would Citizens Advice be the best place or just see a solicitor?

Citizens Advice are unlikely to help you with conveyancing queries (even if they have the skills). Can you explain to us what your problem is? Do you own any of the properties?
