MSE's Money Tips email is in .mht format and (for me at least !) will only open in I.E. I don't think Edge can handle .mht files.Peter999_2 said:RumRat said:You shouldn't be using I.E anymore it's a non supported browser than Microsoft has ditched, that's why it's defaulting to the new Edge. Unless you're using an app which only works in Internet Explorer, haha.I guess you have .mht to default to ie not edge/chrome

Unfortunately edge / chrome do not show as options even though I use both. All I see is I.E. or a visit to the Microsoft store when I look at my default apps sorted by extensions.debitcardmayhem said:Billy_Boy said:

Do you not get the option to Choose another app? If yes then you could browse to the Chrome or Edge executable (EXE) file and select it.Jenni x0

As stated previously no option for using other apps. For Rumrat's benefit I can happily live with things as they are ( I can read the newsletter via my email client, Outlook). Not sure why the email newsletter is in .mht format.Jenni_D said:Do you not get the option to Choose another app? If you click this in Outlook, it will save the page as MHT format on your local drive and open it in Internet Explorer. This file that Outlook saves is not compatible with Edge or Chrome.
There is absolutely no need to do the above, if you really want to view it in a web browser then click this part at the top of the newsletter instead:
