Best place to buy these? My instinct as a retail customer is ao.com but I'm sure there are industry alternatives out there that can more than compete on price. I'm looking to purchase a 5-ring gas hob, electric fan ovens and a dishwasher, functional rather than fancy because in fairness they will not be over-used. The rest of my kitchen appliances will be freestanding.
And apart from dimensions and fit into the plan, what else do I need to consider?

I think with integrated appliances there is an argument for spending more to get quality items, as the job of fixing door panels onto the appliances can be a bit fiddly, so anything that delays the point at which needs to be redone is a benefit. We have had problems with the depth of appliances carefully and see if there any reviews available where people had had trouble getting the appliance far back enough to fit the door and have it line up with their other cabinets.
As to where to buy from; AO has become my go-to for many appliances. I've not been happy with John Lewis in the last five years as the quality of their customer service has fallen. Currys have been good for us.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1 -
I used Appliances Direct when refitting my kitchen. They do have some questionable reviews however were the cheapest (at the time) by a fair way, and I didn’t have any issues at all. I rang them as I was buying 4-5 appliances at the same time and they knocked a bit of money off.2

AO is my go-to for major appliances, but I shopped around for my last kitchen refit and actually bought a couple of "graded" ones. The sellers list the faults, usually with extensive pictures. My integrated oven has a tiny dent/scratch in a side panel that obviously isn't visible as it is integrated. My induction hob was also listed as "scratched", but the tiny mark actually polished off with some Pink Stuff. The most confusing thing is that retailers like John Lewis and AO will stock almost identical goods, but with slightly different model numbers making it difficult to compare like-for-like. But I do like the fact that AO have lots of search filters to allow you to narrow down your choice."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.1

For the best price would shop around separately for every particular item.

Pricerunner.com for a better model-based price comparison. If you like AO, Boots Kitchen Appliances are AO. You get the same price but with pretty generous Advantage Card points to spend in Boots.Don't forget the cashback websites.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Only option is to shop around and ask any friends about staff discounts etc they may be entitled to. At a previous place we got 20% off Miele and a variable percentage of the Bosch group which in real world terms was 10-40% off prices listed at AO.com etc
Ovens and hobs etc are all simple to fit and fairly standard (exc legal requirements on needing certified fitters). Things like dishwashers and washingmachines can be a bit more of a pain as there is more variability. Our replacement machine never went into the hole fully for some reason despite on paper the same depth and the door had to be redrilled as the holes didtnt align (which I messed up)1 -
If you're looking functional rather than fancy, I have got Beko appliances that have outlived some big brands. I rate them quite highly. But if the difference in price to high end brand is <£150 depending on the appliance I'd change my mind.
Avoid hotpoint is what I've been told, and as an owner of a broken hotpoint fridge freezer, I'd not go with them again either.0 -
In terms of where to buy from, I hate curry's but they do do good deals and their delivery guys have been great, carrying stuff to the right room even though the website says they'll only do so if you get installation through them. If you can't install yourself get a local guy to install or ask around - you might have a friend who knows how to do it. As for old appliances, don't pay to dispose but leave on the street and scrap collectors will pick up.1

Appliances direct are as cheap as anywhere and stock all brands. we got most of our kitchen appliances from them, and they have showrooms you can visit.1
