HELP - New supplier - Triple Power Use

That's very odd, your usage jumping by changing supplier. I don't have a smart meter but my mum and dad got one last year and it started off at 00000 - I see your display is up at 21391 units already. How long have you had the smart meter and did yours start at zero when it was installed?0

Just throwing another idea into the pot
Are you comparing this latest reading with the one you gave a few weeks ago to your new supplier ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Hi Robin, new meter was put in on 2/2/17, its was a smart meter, not sure it it started from 00000, maybe did, if so an average of 14.65kwh per day, still allot less than 40!Robin9 said:The meter is dated 2016 - were you at that property then ? (There may be a sticker or card giving an actual date) It would have read 00000 - so about 4,500 units/year.
A bit of detective work on your behalf now. Can you back track on older bills and see if they have been based on ACTUAL readings or ESTIMATES. Just wondering if there have been lots of estimates leading you to think you were a low user and now you have an actual reading.
Keep reading that meter every day for a while.
I've always inputted actual readings, never estimates.

No, I knew something was wrong so record the kph for last 24hrs, 40kwh hours is way above what a small flat with a fridge and TV should be, British gas said average consumption for my kind of property is 5 - 7kwh per 24 hrs.
I have the figures for my electric consumption for the last 2 years with SSE, 2019 = 1346 kph for year, 2020 = 1300 kwh for the year.0
