Euros cheque received

Hi,
I hope I am posting in the right place!
My kind brother has sent me a cheque in Euros. Can anyone recommend the best way to deposit this without incurring too much in charges. Thank you very much.

Why did he send a cheque?

Can the cheque be ripped up, and can he send the money electronically instead? E.g. via Transferwise. Other currency transfer firms exist, see https://www.monito.com/

An electronic transfer is almost certainly better value for money, and significantly faster than trying to cash a Euro cheque in the UK.

    Agreed.
The cheque can be framed and hung over the OP's desk. Meanwhile the kind brother can send an electronic transfer.

Presumably your kind brother wanted you to have his present, not share it with a bank or a money exchange shark. You could tell him that you have known for 2 years that Euro cheques get a very poor exchange rate in the UK.
