deppo said:or maybe they are trying to close a potential fraud loophole - see https://www.headforpoints.com/2021/02/06/avios-nectar-transfer-security/I hope my 10,000 come through ok....Addendum 2nd of March....I phoned BA today on the number they give, and was told my Nectar points should be showing in 2 days time(apparently 10 working days since I cleared security)....I was only on hold for 2 minutes before they answered.
Couponing....."every little hurts"

I can now confirm the 10 working days apparently needed for swapping Avios to Nectar. My telephone request to BA on 17 February has today resulted in the Nectar points appearing. That's 10 working days / 13 elapsed days. So it works! BA sent me an email today confirming the 'manual' swap had happened today but it does seem that they may be deliberately holding on to Avios until the last possible moment (unlike the case if swapping Nectar to Avios).
I'll wait another few weeks to see if BA put in place a website that allows you to swap Avios to Nectar whenever you want but I'm not holding my breath.0 -

I have the option to reply via a given link, or phone tomorrow to do the transaction again....I will choose the latter.....Looks like you may be correct about them "holding on to their Avios...."

I try to believe they are just understaffed, disorganised and having to support something rushed through by their marketing department - but it stretches credibility.
Did they say why your transaction didn't go through? Like, 'your Nectar account isn't correctly linked with your Avios/BA account' or '10,000 Avios is currently too many in one go' or some such? Otherwise, your next transaction may not go through either.
The best of luck and persistence to you! I hope you get your Avios swapped.0 -

"Thank you for getting in touch with us about transferring Avios between your British Airways Executive Club and Nectar accounts. I have checked your account and can confirm no Avios have been converted to your Nectar account.
In order to convert your Avios into Nectar points, please call 0344 49 333 03 between 9am - 5pm (Monday to Friday).
I am sorry I couldn't be more immediately helpful, but if there is anything else I can help with please let me know.
We would like to invite you to fill in a short questionnaire regarding your experience, you can do this by clicking on the following link: ............
If you would like to speak to me again, please get back in touch with me by clicking on the following reply link. If you use this link it will come back to me directly:.......................

........................."ADDENDUM.... (3rd of March)....After being in queue for 30 minutes, the person I spoke to thought email was crossed lines(off an earlier email I sent), and my transaction is on course, However, she did say that "due to much more activity than they expected, waiting days are now 14 instead of 10".....that is 14 working days...so now, instead of hearing about mine tomorrow, it could be next Monday.....ADDENDUM 2....Got an email around 2pm informing me that my conversion had gone through today....I checked just to make sure and yes, I have 10k extra Nectar points...I'm quite pleased with this, as the 6300 Avios were the leftovers after having 3 nice holidays in Madeira,(courtesy of Mr Tesco and lots of couponing) and being fairly worthless, I was just going to let them expire, until I read about this swap in Martin's Newsletter.Couponing....."every little hurts"

So pleased British Airways and Nectar have teamed up. Being able to convert Nectar to Avios is a gamechanger for me. I admit I am becoming a loyalty scheme geek and try hard to earn a companion voucher on BA each year. Now 65 and newly retired, I was accustomed to flying business paid for by my employer. Now I still want to fly business if I can, but I can’t justify paying. So I intend to use Avios, but it requires a lot of Avios.
With convertibility, I can now rack up lots of N from my usual supermarket, Sainsburys (1 N per £), other retailers like Argos (10 N per £), plus lots of bonus N every week on personalised offers from Nectar on my usual purchases. So, with good planning, and some luck, I could easily walk away with double, triple, or quadruple Nectar points on selected purchases.
In addition, I have a BA American Express Premium Plus card which gives me 1.5 Avios for every £ spent. So I use this card to pay for everything. The only negative is that, as some people here said, it can be difficult finding the BA reward seats for popular destinations, but I recently came across a site www.rewardflightfinder.com that finds them for you.
So, I think I am all set for my retirement if Covid does not get me first.

I wondered about converting Avios to Nectar as some value is lost in the conversion but my Lloyds Avios Card is dropping Avios (with the equivalent of .33% value) to "Cashback" (with the equivalent of .25% value!) and that made my mind up. I then plan to spend the Nectar points with Sainsburys on my weekly shop and so eventually turn them into cash that I'll put into savings. As of today (26/4/21) the Avios site can't process Avios to Nectar conversions but I was told this functionality will be delivered shortly. Their helpline was very good though and it took less than 5 minutes from picking up the phone to get my first 50,000 points converted (subject to a 10 working day wait before I can see the points in my Nectar account). Interestingly, their agent on the call told me he has cashed his Avios in recently. Does he know something we don't?!0

They've been saying this since day one....The site has never been able to process the conversion from Avois to Nectar....

They've been saying from day one that they would soon be setting up the Avios to Nectar on their web page, put it never came about. If I were you, I would try and contact them via email/on line and try and get some sense out of them. I'm sure there must be a "Contact us" link on their website.I never had any problem via the phone number supplied, and they were always very obliging.Couponing....."every little hurts"
