If you have two pennies, save one - mum
Do you want it or do you need it - also mum
Dont hang your hat where your hands can’t reach - mother dearest…
Only buy things in the sale- esp gifts

I heeded and my whole family are avid money savers, we enjoy life also but make sure if we are spending we try to also generate some reward/cashback. I.e holidays Quidco/Expedia/Points/VIP/AMEX/BAReward flights! Then do the same again but we only need hotels 😎

Martin's favourite saying - 'pay off your credit card IN FULL every month'. Really made me think about interest charges, not leaving balances on credit cards and how credit card expenditure doesn't equate to me being 'able to afford' to buy things. Thank you, Martin!

Never say to a client that you do not wish to undertake a project that you don’t fancy doing.

Instead say “I’d love to do do it” and quote a price that is high enough to make it either go away or be a real joy to do.

Dickens: "Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery."
can someone convert this to metric please, I've read it twice now and still none the wiser  :D
With the amounts not only decimalised, but updated by inflation per https://www.in2013dollars.com/uk/inflation/1850 (the first site I found):

"Annual income £2,868.75, annual expenditure £2865.17 result happiness.
Annual income £2,868.75, annual expenditure £2872.33, result misery."

With the original figures, a change in expenditure of only 5p (one shilling) changes the result from happiness to misery.
