Way I've always approached investments (rather than changed thinking) :-1:

"Over-seventies should self-isolate for the foreseeable future" or whatever Boris actually said last March.
That stopped me thinking about saving.

Pennies don't fall from heaven. They have to be earned down here on earth.

‘They don’t put pockets in shrouds’ - one from my late Grandad. Very true - saving is important but you should live your life too

Annual income £20, annual expenditure £19.975 result happiness. Annual income £20, annual expenditure £20.025, result misery.

Nineteen nineteen and six means £19 19 shillings and sixpence, which when we decimalised was worth £19 and 97.5 pence. A pound contained 20 shillings and a shilling contained 12 pennies.

    'Money doesn't grow on trees.'

A phrase from my childhood when I wanted something and money was tight or non-existent- it was true then and sadly true today!! No, you have to go out and earn it, and that was why I got a 'Saturday job' worth it's weight in gold (£1!) and experience at 16 yo.
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
