Fed up with the stealthy increases. Each year it goes up after a year of it being discounted. Want to know about switching to another provider that uses ADSL because we are not fibre connected. On the various switching platforms if we put in our address it still comes up with options for fibre. So does this mean they will instal it? Presumably this will cost.
Why isnt there options to filter for ADSL on these channels when searching for new supplier.

Most suppliers like talktalk , Plusnet etc still offer adsl
You may find that new customer offers means that you may pay less for fibre that your current package on ADSLEx forum ambassador

Why isnt there options to filter for ADSL on these channels when searching for new supplier. You probably are fibre connected to the exchange. As a general rule if you upgrade to FTTC (the cheaper option) you just change the router from the new provider and nothing else needs to change. But do check the comparison websites for new customer deals and then phone up BT and say provider X can do me this that and the other for <whatever, usually cheaper for x months>> but I'd rather stay with you, what you can do for me as i'd rather not pay <previous ridiculous amount> for the same product.0 -

Put your postcode into the BT/Sky/TalkTalk website and see what packages they offer as you have done. If you can get the basic fibre it is likely you do have fibre to the cabinet. Given your first post seems to show they offer it to you, its likely you can get it.
Or check on Openreach's site first https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband#0 -

Thanks to you all. I did negotiate a £20 discount on my bill with BT.0
