I take it you meant to say no further record held on cifas? That’s what I was told too when I spoke to them but I haven’t actually found any real life stories yet where people have been through the 6 years, wondering if cifas markers are a fairly new thing so nobody has actually done the 6 years yet.

Yeah just seems strange that there’s no real life stories of somebody saying ‘I’ve done the 6 years and this is what happened afterwards’ if you get what I’m saying, lots of stories of people having them but haven’t been able to find Anyone who’s done the 6 years. Mines not too far off so I’ll be able to advise others when my times done 

Well, presumably it's because what happens is exactly what you expect to happen. People just carry on with their lives.

Hi James - have you managed to get a bank account now yours has ended? Mine comes to an end in April. Was your end date the ‘application date’ or the ‘date recorded’ as detailed on the CIFAS letter?

Hi, it drops off 6 years after the recorded date, I did my DSAR 24 hours after and 2 days later it came back clear. I haven't actually applied for any products yet as I already had a monzo account which I was able to get a couple of years ago plus going for mortgage this year so avoiding opening any new accounts, hope this helps

Hi, I know this was a couple of years ago but do you have any update on this? Mine is due to come of this year after having a few accounts closed. Did you manage to get a high street bank account and mortgage?
