Got confirmation of barclaycard approval through email. £1200 limit. I really think the likes of ClearScore and such don’t offer you good offers as they never mentioned good offers like barclaycard just capital one with very low credit limit. It’s best to check offers independently then reply on credit reference agencies. They are rubbish.

And what you’ve learned there is the truth. Clearscore/MSe don’t have access to the creditors data so you are always better going direct.

Even if MSE says 99% chance you should always go to the creditor and use their checker first

I tried the Barclaycard eligibility a checker 2 weeks ago for the Forward card and it said I would likely be accepted so I completed the full application form only for the result at the end to then fail to load.

After checking my reports they have done a soft search but no hard search and no card has arrived yet so I assume it didn't go through.

Not sure if it's worth trying again or if their dodgy website will fail again.

If a hard search hasn't been recorded it's likely it hasn't processed. You could always email them and ask to double check.

More likely is that Clearsore and the like will only show you cards from companies who are willing to give them a kickback from referrals, that's the whole point of these things after all.

I tried for a Barclaycard Forward card again this week and I was accepted with a £1200 limit after proving my income. Result.

Now I wonder if having 7 credit cards is a bit excessive!
