Can I open a Lifetime Cash ISA in same year I've paid into a Help to Buy Cash ISA?

Hi everyone, would appreciate your help on this one as I'm a bit confused!
I currently pay monthly into a Help to Buy ISA that I've had for a few years, and I've already paid into it this financial year. I now want to open a Lifetime ISA as I think that's better in the long run, but my understanding is that you aren't allowed to pay into more than one Cash ISA in the same year - is this true/does this apply does anyone know?
I'm wondering if I'd be allowed to open a Lifetime Cash ISA (and pay into it) this year, in the same year as I've already paid into a different Help to Buy Cash ISA.. if that makes sense. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yes you can open, and contribute, to both HTB ISA and cash LISA in same tax year.
This is because they are different ISA types.Lifetime ISAs (whether cash or stocks and shares) is a different type to a cash ISA ( HTB counts as a cash ISA).1 -
Thanks, that really clears things up!
