EE wont let me cancel my contract

Hi all,
I currently have a 5g router with EE. Entered into an 18 month contract at £70per month. (which i don't remember agreeing to). I am moving, and EE is unable to offer me a 5G service at the new house. I have phoned them to cancel, and they want me to pay off the remainder of the contract (£500+) or keep paying the £70 per month for the duration of the contract.
My question is, is they cannot offer me the service i am contracted to, is this a breach of contract on there part and i am able to cancel without penalty?

No it not and no you can't
You agreed a contract to supply at your old house. You have changed the conditions.
No different to the posts that come up about Virgin customers moving to a new location they don't support. Same answer, contract was for the old address.

It is your choice to move house, it is you that is breaking the contract not them.

Can you renegotiate to 4G broadband?

Extremely common "complaint".  Only breach of contract in this situation is your moving.  Not EE's fault you're moving an area they don't supply 5G in.  Agreement is for your old address.
12/18/24 month contracts are all very well, but if people agree to them and then find a few months down the line they have to move because of a section 21 notice/job requirement/for fun, then they run the risk of the supplier not providing the service at the new address and so these fees apply.

Is the 5G connection really that much faster/better than a 4G connection?

Always amazing isn't it how people suddenly forget agreeing to something when it turns out they're going to have to pay to cancel it for house move reasons, yet they remember all about it when it comes to "my bill is wrong, we agreed <£x> and that's not what they're charging me" months down the line... :)

Why not see what speeds you can get with 4G EE first.

Yeah, it was ultimately your choice. The contract will specify early termination charges which can be the entire remaining cost.
So any options come down to EE's goodwill. I think if you were willing to change to a service they can offer at your new address - maybe 4G, maybe fixed line - then they might be willing to end the old contract without penalty.
