COVID vaccine letters

At the weekend a woman said her 94 year old mother, who is in a care home, has not had her first vaccination yet.
So it depends where you live, what arrangements are for your vaccine- can you go to a vaccine centre or do you need to have a home visit because you are CEV, in which case you will need to wait for your GP surgery to contact you when they have supply.

Was this thread created just so you could have a pop at the Tories? Seems that way.

Unless you have a disability that means you cannot leave the house then CEV's are expected to visit vaccination centres. I got mine last night.sheramber said:At the weekend a woman said her 94 year old mother, who is in a care home, has not had her first vaccination yet.

My son, whose 42, but CV got a phone call from his local surgery last week to go today for the vaccine. He didn't get a letter.0

Myself and son (both CEV), went to a mass vaccination centre this afternoon for our jabs. Only housebound (through disability rather than vulnerability) people are getting them in their home.sheramber said:At the weekend a woman said her 94 year old mother, who is in a care home, has not had her first vaccination yet.

All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I'll be 71 in a couple of weeks and I got a phone call this morning asking if I want a jab and when can I go. Not a letter. I think letters are going to be a bit expensive to send to everyone. My GP surgery is doing them which is very handy. I'm in Yorkshire.

Post is greatly delayed here. We got a Christmas card that was posted on 22/12 and delivered on 23/01....that's not the Governments fault.0

Don't necessarily get a letter - it may depend where you live but there are many appointments being made by phone here in the south west (not calls from GP surgeries) and there are teams booking 1000's of slots everyday.NaughtiusMaximus said:Does anyone know if there's a date by which everyone in the clinically extremely vulnerable/shielding group should receive their vaccination letter? My GF is still waiting for hers, everyone else we know who's either shielding or over 70 (which to be fair isn't a huge amount of people) has now received a letter. Our GP practice are as helpful as a cocoa derived tea receptacle.0 -
I can confirm too, my appointment has been arranged with a telephone call to me from my GP, no letter involved.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Got mine done on Sunday. No letters, just a text on Thursday from the GPS surgery with a link to book at the vaccination centre set up by the Rural Alliance, a group of 6 rural practice in Cheshire. Totally painless, was only it here 15 mins and 10 of those werenbecause I had to wait after the jab because I was driving.0
