Cheapest way to keep NCB alive...

Ok so my ncb two year mark is due to expire on 4th Feb. I last took out car insurance with me as policy holder on 4th Feb 2018 and it finished after the year which gave me 2 years ncb in total (as i had one year already yay). I didn't realise the time was so close to the expiry so i know i've missed out on the cheaper 21 day prices for insurance.
However what is the cheapest and easiest way to 'keep my ncb alive'?
TIA

You either have to insure a car or it lapses. You can't simply insure a car you don't have, or that is already covered by other means.
When you next get a car, it may be that you can get an introductory discount that reflects past driving history.1 -
Pause and ask yourself how much you'll actually save.
Two years NCB isn't a big percentage.1 -
Insure a vehicle.1

If the OP doesn't own a vehicle at present then without insuring someone else's, how would they do what you suggest?1 -

Exactly.
So now we're buying and insuring a vehicle for a year to save, what, 30% off the premium next time?
It makes no sense.5 -
I thought two years was a big deal...it was for me anyway. I thought i'd be saving loads compared to not having any but sounds like maybe not so and too complicated and not really money saving as others suggest. Thanks all.0
