I'm an idiot - two separate charges

You have to get used to the fact that it won't go away, especially as there is a national 'push' by debt collectors to chase up any unpaid parking ticket as COVID is hitting the private parking sector so hard - estimated 80% loss of income (and hopefully no furlough 😆)!GC41 said:Okay @Umkomaas, fair point. Just a bit stressed and want this to go away. I'll ignore it.want this to go away.Other than paying them their full pound of flesh +++ (which you will never see us recommending), ignoring is the best and only sensible option going forward. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

as above, stay as keeper and no naming the driver or dobbing them inmy point is you were asked how many tickets for a reason , had it been 20 or 200 it would be worth their while trying a court case via your sherriffs office , so avoid the charges like we do by following the rules in future, because it will all change in Scotland soon, probably this year in fact, due to your last Transport billat no time did I say to contect them, IGNORE means they are in limbo with no drivrs ID and the debt collectors are powerless throughout the UKif you Sherriff court send a court claim, then it would be different advicehowever , do not trust the trapdoor spiders when they say its safe because they have just eaten !!!!for now its IGNORE, a simple word that you will have to follow , and AVOIDANCE , to stop any more1

Good idea - on both counts! I always carry a bag of silver coins in my centre console (whether I'm in the UK or South Africa) ready for deployment at any PDT site. But massively more so in the UK than hugely car parking friendly SA.GC41 said:Thanks @Umkomaas, really appreciate the advice. I'll do as you suggest (and carry 50p pieces for the meter from now on, to avoid any more 😊).Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. Don't overestimate your newsworthiness (unless you're a famous Scot!). Even Carly Mackie didn't get any coverage south of the border (to my recollection!) and definitely not in KwaZulu-Natal. 😄GC41 said:I'll do that @Umkomaas. Lesson learned. But keep your eye on the BBC news in case they end up taking me to court and making an example of me 😉Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. But tell us when the retail park cancel them.
The NEWBIES thread doesn't say complain 'very quickly'. It says, complain every time at any stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
