  • Coupan-mad, I never said it was anyone in here saying pay or ignore.
Guess what, thats why I came on here, to find an impartial voice. To find people that may have been in this situation,  to find answers .
Have you never been in a situation where you really didn't know what to do?
Have you never been felt vulnerable,  ?

  • Beamerguy, your comments ring truth and help calm a mind like mine.
Even reading the letter over and over it still smells of a chance, a try on , telling me i have cannot  appeal now,  but when a person is at a low it does bring unwanted ,unnecessary anxieties

MP's are onto this .... but sadly with legislation ... it can take time ... there will be a new set of rules this year ...

read just a few of the things MP's had to say and some quotes from the committe stage

"The other area is hospital parking, and I want to single out one company for some pretty shady practices. That is ParkingEye"
" is very clear to me that there is collusion between parking companies and solicitors’ firms—so-called roboclaims companies. "
"They are often set up adjacently and involve the same directors and personnel. Incidentally, the same personnel get involved in the so-called appeals bodies."
"Essentially, it is a money-making enterprise that takes advantage of motorists up and down the country. They operate in a very business-like fashion, which is why I call them roboclaims companies."
"The companies are jamming up parts of our legal system."
“I now pretty much know exactly how the parking companies and in particular the IPC have been running this scam for the past 5 years. Basically both of the appeals processes are a complete and utter sham, (and part of that sham is Gladstones Solicitors itself)”
"The appeals process at Excel/VCS is run by a team of minimum wage office workers with no legal knowledge or experience whatsoever,"
" It is claimed by the head of the appeals service (retired Judge Bryn Holloway) that this is a completely independent fair process, it is not”
"The letter mentions two individuals—Will Hurley and Bryn Holloway—and concludes   this is a typical example of the clear collusion between the IPC, their members and the IAS"
"what we can do about roboclaims companies and solicitors  firms that profit, often in shady ways"
" the very large amounts of money that can be involved in such scams—a company called Smart Parking was involved in one such scam on my patch"
"tightening up the rules regarding the unfair use of automatic number plate recognition"                  "BW Legal, regularly issues 10,000 county court judgments a month, and is known to have issued 28,000 in one month"
"They are jamming up our court system, and are often totally unjustified."
" because the lifeblood of trying to extort money from people is having access to their details."

Yes, I was stuck in a foreign country with no money and no credit on the cards we had with us, during the ashcloud thing at Easter 2010.

I came on MSE and read what to do and learnt about the law, sent a LBC to the airline when we managed to get back, and got more back from them than we'd paid.  I knew nothing about that law before and I am not legally trained.   I didn't post a new thread, I just went on the right forum and read.  And read more.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The point we are making to yuo OP is that you need to
    read
Everything have been told to read.
USE THE FORUM AS A FORUM - search it, read the threads told, etc.
Knowledge is power, and knowledge will help show you how stupid the company you're dealing with is, how they have ZERO power, etc.

To be honest it is making me unwell from worry

Calm down, it is a piddling parking ticket from a firm of scammers who are likely to go bust before too long.  Read the newbies and complain to your MP.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Dont worry 'Troubledminds'. I also received a new threat-o-gram from them this morning.
My alleged contravention was dated Dec 2014. To my knowledge its now 2021, which is over 6 years anyways - even if the original alleged 'ticket' was worth more than toilet paper.
It made me chuckle. It looks very official and convincing, but its not. Its bullsh*t and still just an 'invoice' from a third party who has bought the piece of paper from another cowboy, for an an assumed contract for parking.
Only a judge can send bailiffs, and only then after a court case has taken place, which you must have lost. They are chancers and con-artisits.
Please dont add made-up stress from them to your life. Its how they operate - by fear and misrepresentation.
