Lyca Mobile - Discontinue numbers after 3 months of inactivity
I had 2 Lyca mobile numbers in my and my mother's names. We had over £50 credit on one and over £10 on the other. I recently tried to use this number to contact India and received a message online that the numbers were now discontinued. After ringing Lyca I was told that as I had not used the phone or in particular topped up with additional credit, my number had been cancelled and all the credit had been taken off with no chance of getting any refund or re-activating the numbers. They referred me to their terms and conditions but I have had these numbers for well over 5 years. Are they able to do this and is there anyway I can recoup my credit?

Yes they can do this, all networks do the same when a PAYG service has no chargeable events for a certain period. The information about it was certainly available. There's no way to claim the credit. It's a pity that that so much was topped up if you weren't going to use the phone...Evolution, not revolution2

Same with Three PAYG from what I recall. Schedule a reminder/alarm to make a text or call every so often ?1
