Painted over plastered walls which seemed dry but now have wet patches

It is advised by BG etc... to apply pva on old plasterboards. Maybe the plasterer was using up old stock.0

Who is BG?That just doesn't make any sense to me.I cannot think of any circumstance where plasterboard - PLASTERBOARD, which is designed for skimming - requires a coat of PVA. Even if the twit fitted the boards the wrong way around, they could still skim on to it straight-off.0

British gypsum i'm guessing.
seems odd though, how old would a plasterboard have to be before it becomes unstable? I've never heard of it....It sounds like something thats come from the PVA advertising board!
in answer to the OP, how long have these wet patches in the corner been wet? i'd be tempted to just heat and ventilate the room properly for a full day, if the problem persists, you have a problem,. if they problem goes away, then you don't t have a problem.1 -

Ah, was it right in the corner betwixt the ceiling and walls? They'd have run a large, possibly continuous, dab along there to fully secure the board edges. Also, corners like that are the last to dry out as reduced airflow.0
