Paid £60 deposit for hol, should i pay rest?

Right, so i booked a holiday about a month ago before i knew about going into lockdown etc.. i have only paid a £60 deposit so far, and the next payment is nearly due. The holiday is 17th May, however with everything going on i really don't think we're going to be able to even fly away then, so i would rather not take the risk and keep on making payments.. I logged into onthebeach website to view my booking, i went to the cancel section and it came up saying i would need to pay £370 just to cancel!!
my question is.. If i just don't make anymore payments am i still liable to pay for the whole holiday, meaning will they get debt collectors involved etc??
i tried calking them about it and was on hold for 2 hours with nobody answering.
i just dont want to be caught up with a huge bill for not even going away, but on the other foot i dont want to risk paying it all for us not to be able to go...
any advice greatful thanks

Didn't you read any reviews of On The Beach before booking ?
They have been one of the worst companies to deal with during the pandemic.
Let me guess is it a trip involving Ryanair Flights ?0 -

Let me guess is it a trip involving Ryanair Flights ?Im not bothered about losing the £60 deposit already paid, but just worried i'll get debt collector letters asking for payments for a holiday i don't even want to go on anymore because of what's going on and having to quarantine..0 -
If the £60 was just a token deposit with the remaining deposit due at a later date then yes, you are liable to pay the full deposit off should you wish to cancel.
How much is the total cost of the holiday?0 -

.....The Supplier/Principal may charge the cancellation or amendment charges shown in their terms and conditions (which may be as much as 100% of the cost of the Travel Arrangements and will normally increase closer to the date of departure). In addition, you must pay us an administration fee as set out in the table below. We will notify you of the exact charges at the time of amendment or cancellation.
The advice has been to stick to your payment schedule and then you can see what the situation is closer to departure time.
They are currently dealing with bookings up to 14th Feb and have a useful FAQ section here https://www.onthebeach.co.uk/faqs/coronavirus which includes what happens if you don't pay the balance

£918 total cost
the next payment due is £160.0 -
Well if you'd looked on here at the time you booked (which would have seemed sensible in the prevailing climate) you may have been directed to BA or Easyjet Holidays Direct who have far more flexible cancellation policies.
Have you got an ATOL Certificate ? IE is it a Package Holiday ?0 -
I mean, what are the chances of actually even being able to go away mid may??0

So if i continue to make payments and pay it all off, and we still can't go then surely they'll give me a voucher to go at a later date?
