Letter from DCBL

I’ve received a letter from DCBL debt recovery today regarding 2 private parking tickets dated 2017, they were originally from PCM. I live at the address they have given the tickets for. Can I ignore them or do I need to get in touch as I don’t want them coming round my house, can anyone help ??

Yep, read the NEWBIE sticky, you will find it amongst one of the five announcements on the front page of the forum just below where you clicked on New Thread button. Also look at a few other poster's thread as there is a lot about DCBL resurrecting old claims.
Does the letter give you 14 days to reply or 30 days?
Don't phone debt collectors, they are only interested in your money.1 -
Hi thanks for reply it gives me 14 days to reply with payment or payment arrangements, it also says this is not a high court or bailiff case, what does that mean ??0

It means that this is a claim from the County Court, a civil claim for an alleged breach of contract and no baillifs will call. Please read the stickies/newbies, most of your questions will be answered therein . Also, consider complaining to your MP.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

It means it is a debt collector's letter. When you read the NEWBIE sticky you will see that a proper letter of/before claim has to give 30 days and will usually come with financial forms, which you do not fill in. Unless you have a CCJ that you have not paid but I doubt you would forget going to a small claims hearing and being awarded a CCJ against you!Lekeyia17 said:Hi thanks for reply it gives me 14 days to reply with payment or payment arrangements, it also says this is not a high court or bailiff case, what does that mean ??1 -
Thank you, no I didn’t get a ccj for it, there are actually 2 parking tickets, given on the 1/6/2017 and 5/6/2017, I actually live at the address and was parked in my own residential parking spot, however my permit had fallen down onto the floor so was not visible. This is the reason why I never payed them in the first place as I live here and my car is registered at my address. Could you just clarify for me that I’m fine to ignore the letter0

Or is there something I should do about it ??

No Mr Dance, it means it is a letter from a powerless debt collector.D_P_Dance said:It means that this is a claim from the County Court, a civil claim for an alleged breach of contract and no baillifs will call. What does your lease or AST say about parking, parking permits, PCNs, paying an unregulated parking scammer, and court claims?Lekeyia17 said:Thank you, no I didn’t get a ccj for it, there are actually 2 parking tickets, given on the 1/6/2017 and 5/6/2017, I actually live at the address and was parked in my own residential parking spot, however my permit had fallen down onto the floor so was not visible. What it doesn't say is just as important.

Ok thanks for your help, in your experience do you think I will get a letter before claim, or just hear no more from them?Le_Kirk said:
Just keep it (file it) as it is a debt collector's letter. Come back when you get a real letter before/of claim.Lekeyia17 said:Or is there something I should do about it ??
