For higher value items, anything over £100, the use of PayPal in any form with a credit card can interfere with your statutory protection under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. In theory if you pay whilst logged out it shoudlnt, pay when logged in and you replace S75 with Resolution Centre which is much weaker. If theres an option to pay direct rather than via PayPal for higher value items its always a sensible option to consider.
I pay B&Q with PayPal because that way I can use AmEx which I cannot do directly and as mine is a charge card rather than credit card there is no S75 protection anyway.0
