The government say ..........
Exit from the EU:
There may be changes and effects to this Legislation not yet recorded or applied to the text
Changes to legislation:
There are outstanding changes not yet made by the legislation.gov.uk editorial team to Limitation Act 1980. Any changes that have already been made by the team appear in the content and are referenced with annotations.
The question is .. will government make this worse or better. It could be years
The reason parking companies are digging up old tickets is they are desperate for money due to covid and that is set to continue. The bounce on for this is desperate legals who work in the scam industry for peanuts.
Who is the parking company ? If you are being chased by DRP, do read all about this shower in the newbies thread

Then normally you are saying the wrong thing, statute of limitation is 6 years for matters not involving bodily injury (for which its 3 years).TeddyM_2 said:
Normally I would reply and state the case is Statute Barred and reference the Limitations act 1980. But! Is this still a law post Brexit?
The law struck around brexit effectively moved everything into the UK wholesale and things may change overtime now the UK isnt bound to follow the EU directives. Would have been the wild west if we had simply abandoned everything with a root in the EU as consumer rights, financial services regulations and capital requirements, food safety, drug safety etc would have all disappeared otherwise.
Given the general circus and last minute thing the whole thing has been warnings have been put all over the place but the law of limitiations didnt have an EU root and so is unlikely to change immediately in the UK unless they think we can become a haven for legal cases to be heard here... we already see disproportionate divorce cases held here as the lower earner in a multinational couple gets more favourable treatment under English law than they would potentially get in the USA or Russia or wherever the other part of their life is.5 -

Thanks for your replies everyone- really helpful as I really don’t know what to say back to them! I read in another thread to write to them to statute barred due to limitations act but see a lot of you saying that’s the wrong thing! So that’s been really helpful for me to understand thank you!The company is dcbl a certified bailiff and high court enforcement company and the date of the ticket was 16/06/17 so just shy of 6 years.
Any helpful ideas on how to reply?0 -

the date of the ticket was 16/06/17 so just shy of 6 years.Looks like almost 2.5 years shy to me!Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I bet the letter states it is not subject to bailiff
So
does it give you 30 days? Yes or No
You then read the newbies thread to know what to do if your answer is yes, and also if your answer is no.4
