contacting virgin

i have been trying for days to contact virgin to cancel as i am out of contract and they are putting the price up again. i have spent approx 9 hours on hold, after about 50mins you just get cut off. i did manage to have a "conversation" on Facebook which they suggested i write them a letter. which by the time that has been delt with they will take yet another months payment. on their facebook account everyone seems very upset that virgin can not be reached or if they are reached, then you are told that only retentions can cancel your supply, which means you have to start all over again. Their website is useless you just go round and round each link just sends you back to where you have been. help i just want to be able to cancel and switch my supplier.

It's 30 days notice to cancel anyway so the next payment is likely to be taken anyway. Either write that letter or persevere with the phone, try to get them as soon as they open in the mornings.0
