  • @Tightpants24 yes I do. Everything that I have listed on ebay I also put on FB. I have sold a bunch that way but you do get people saying they'll show up and then not showing which is frustrating. It's amazing how many people get sick just as they're meant to turn up! I've also had to let people know that they can't handle the stuff and leave it. If they're turning up then it's to take it away. Especially with jewellery and gold, folk have wanted to weigh it so I've had to be boundaried and say 'no.' Thankfully most people show up wearing masks and are happy to do no contact collections.
    Total debt at peak 2021 = £38931
Debt at start of diary £31,073.95
    Current debt = £25402.41
    Paid off = 33.22%
    Next - £278.30/ £0.00
    Simply Be £62.95/ £0.00
    Very £617.09/ £0.00
    Paypal £1974.00/ £0.00
    Mum £5800/ £5000
    Yorkshire bank £7,000/ £2037.12
    Tesco credit card 0% £9000/ £8800
    Virgin CC 0% £10,000/ £9220.38

Thanks for the reply. I am clearly a bit naive about the selling lark.  I am the sort of person who turns up and wears a mask 😷
I might just stick to Ebay after all.

  • £564 paid off paypal today. That is a mixture of Ebay and other pennies and pounds I stashed away in case I needed them over the month. That leaves just £218 which I can pay on Friday (payday) and that will then be 4 debts cleared in a month! Then onto the big ones. The scary ones. The ones that will test my patience. I think I need to revisit my spreadsheet and recalculate my repayments (lots of 're' there) which I will do today. I'm starting to think that 18 months is a bit optimistic but I guess a little bit of optimism never hurt anyone.

  • Well done you should be very proud of what you have achieved!!
  • You've achieved so much! It's been lovely to watch.
Don't worry about the big 4 too much! Just set payments at an affordable amount for you and continue not to add to them.  They'll just tick down.
Yes of course you can try and sell stuff etc in order to over pay but don't put too much pressure on yourself or it will feel like a slog.
  • I logged onto paypal today to see my balance reduce and it has reduced to £142.36. Not the £218 that I was expecting. I'm not sure why that is. It makes me nervous when things don't add up as I had planned.
I sold £58 last night so that will hopefully come through tomorrow and I can throw that at Paypal too leaving just a little bit to be cleared with my paycheck. It means I will have a lot more than expected to throw at RBS next month which is nice. The budget I created for myself doesn't include sales (as I never know how well or badly I will do) so it is nice to see the budget change each day as I pay certain bits off. I briefly thought I would set myself a challenge to clear the £84 left with Paypal by Friday but that seems very unrealistic. I do have £40 in my purse and £19 in my bank account that I don't need. I will hold onto it and if I don't need it by Thursday night I will put it all towards Paypal along with anything else that might come along in that time. I would only need an extra £25. It's a shame I don't have a bag of coppers lying around somewhere. I think I have £5 in my piggy bank. I'll use that too. I'm starting to get ahead of myself but if I can clear paypal before payday that will be £2932 of debt cleared in 1 month! Challenge accepted. Where can I get £20?
