I was mega excited for payday today but until our universal credit is sorted there is naff all I can do. Usually, we would have our CTC on Thursday and payday today which means I have all our money in one pot to start shifting where it needs to go but I can't do that just yet. I have moved a very safe £300 to Monzo into a pot ready to pay towards the RBS loan and will just need to wait until the 12th. So frustrating. I want to pay stuff now *throws a mini tantrum.*
Unexpected bills to pay. We have had to call a plumber out and the dog needs to go to the vets tomorrow. She has some sort of sore about 1/2 an inch away from her left eye and she freaks of anyone goes near it. Her eye is constantly gooey as well. I may see about getting the prescription and ordering the medicine online. It's about a 1/3 of the cost. At least the vets are seeing her this time. Last time we had to have a zoom appointment where I held her up to the camera and asked her to keep still. You ever asked a dog to stay still? It's like asking a radish to not be pink. Absolutely ridiculous.Total debt at peak 2021 = £38931

Everything will fall into place and you have plenty of time to sort everything out, a plumber would have been worrying in the past but this is what your emergency fund is for so no stress 😊0

Bad news at the vets today. Doggy has an abscess which has spread across her face and out of her face causing her to have a stinky open sore. We had taken her recently and she was given eye drops but it looks like that was a mis-diagnosis. She now has antibiotics, pain relief and eye drops. It's likely that she will need surgery but she is too old. Some difficult decisions will need to be made.
I went out and bought her all of her favourite food. Ham, pate, chicken, beef, fish, tuna. I spent £104 at the vets and to be honest I didn't even look at the amount spent in the shop. Just in a bit of a confused daze. She has another appointment on Wednesday. I think the worst part is that if we do need to say goodbye we can't be in the room with her when she passes due to covid.

Sorry to hear this, as a dog owner myself I know how hard it can be. I am sure you will do what is right for her. 🤞

Righty, a new day and despite the bad news I still need to carry on with debt repayments. Still not a lot we can do until the 12th (or 16th when we actually get UC paid) but I have sold a few small things and made about £25. I have £51 sat with Ebay which, after I receive it, I will shift off to the Monzo pot.
I'll need to reign in the spending after yesterday's doggy meat bonanza but I cant regret that.Total debt at peak 2021 = £38931

Of course not. Sounds like she deserves some treats. Am in total awe of how well you are managing to sell things and raise money. I'm totally hopeless at it!1

Bill day. I oddly like bill day. It feels like a weight gets lifted. £390 towards RBS, £147 towards the YB loan, £99 towards virgin and £62 towards Tesco. I will update my signature. Hopefully that brings me up to at least 30% of my debt cleared.
Sold one more thing last night but only for £9. Still, it all helps.
Our pup is being put to sleep on Wednesday. I know there are more important things there than money but as this is a debt free diary it still helps to factor in the cost. That will be about £180. I would say that I haven't been watching the pennies too much since payday. Yesterday I went and spent £30. I tried to remember what but I couldn't. Chocolate mainly, I think. I would say that is definitely a reaction to stress/sadness/grief. I will try to keep an eye on this but I also won't beat myself up. The next few days are going to be the worst and the following weeks/months won't be much better.Total debt at peak 2021 = £38931
