I've just looked at the instructions for the Honeywell, I feel your pain, seems complicated to me.Silverbird65 said:So back to installers to see what they can do. Eon used NG installations govt backed scheme I rue the day never again,😊
MWT seems to know what's what, I'll leave him/her to advise.
I have the Salus, much easier to understand and set.0

Thank you for taking the time to look up instructions very kind. You all are trying to help. I appreciate it 😌1

Sound fairly normal to me from when I had GCH and a similar Honeywell 'stat-timer - but why not ask the Installers of the new boiler (and control??)?
Why would/should the set temp display need to drop significantly from the desired 19.0 C to 18.0 C before the boiler fires up to reach and then maintain the set temperature?
These 'stats also "learn" and are often by default set to the allegedly very clever "optimum start" mode where the time you enter is that when you want the room temperature to achieve.
Note the 'flame' symbol shows the stat is either calling or thinking about calling for heat - only the lights on the wireless station or boiler itself, if a wired stat, will determine if the boiler and pump running is on via the relay.
Installer Menu Items: 2 CR Cycle Rate and 3 OT Minimum On Time
are the two to maybe consider altering to affect the cycling frequency and duration? Note the current setting before playing so you can revert?

Seems complicated to start messing with box next to boiler. Flomixed.
But thank you for your explanation.0

I go back to my earlier post. Have you turned down the set temperature to below room temperature to check that the boiler switches off? If it doesn’t, then the most likely cause is a mistake in the wiring. If I recall, the TR3 connects wirelessly to a BDR. When there is a boiler demand from the TR3, there should be a green LED on the BDR. The other issue is placement of the BDR. Honeywell, I think, recommends a minimum separation distance of 300mm from all metal or electrical objects.Silverbird65 said:Seems complicated to start messing with box next to boiler. Flomixed.

Thanks I will check that out. We have a set of metal ladders by box could it be that?☺️0

I looked at the Honeywell tr3 installer cycle rate on handset it was on 6 so changed it to 3 to see what happens could go as low as 1 cycle but will see.

Keep it simple. Just start by checking that the Green LED on the BDR goes OFF and ON as it should. What sort of CH system do you have? Most homes are either ‘S’ or ‘Y’ plan. An ‘S’ plan has 2 zone valves. One allows boiler flow to the radiators , and the other allows water to flow around the HW cylinder. On a ‘Y’ plan the valve changes position to divert boiler flow to either hot water or the radiators. The boiler demand relay (BDR) normally connects wirelessly to the thermostat and it is hardwired to the boiler and to the zone valve.Silverbird65 said:Thanks I will check that out. PS. Whatever you do, DO NOT start pressing buttons on the BDR unless you know what you are doing. The thermostat and the BDR are ‘bound’ together and easily ‘unbound’.

I was given instructions from Honeywell how to change cycle rate on room handset not on the main box. I can change back to 6 if 3 is not ok. The cycle rate goes from 1 to 12 cycles. Whatever that is😏0

The TR3 is set for 6 cycles an hour with 1 minute minimum on time. These are the default settings for a gas boiler.Silverbird65 said:I was given instructions from Honeywell how to change cycle rate on room handset not on the main box.
