Further to original topic, just received a (genuine!) e-mail from our local police warning against this scam.

They gave a screen print of the first page of the e-mail, which just said that the recipient had been selected for the vaccination due to their medical history, and to click 'accept'.  No mention of personal details/ bank account at this point.

The police advise is to delete the e-mail without opening it - but it does look genuine and, sadly, I can see some people falling for this.

Funny that, because at 7.45 this morning the HMRC rang with a final warning or they are going to send the police.
We don't get many cold calls, but I got the 'HMRC arrest warrant' one last week.
I had an email from HMRC saying I was due a tax refund - I clicked on the link, filled it in, told them my name was Jesus Christ and my address was Bethlehem - the response came straight back saying "congratulations Jesus, you are due a refund, just give us your card details and we will send it straight through"  :D

This might seem crazy but change your mothers maiden name.
Its just used as an easy to remember extra password but theres no reason you cant tell (say) your bank and others who use it, that your mothers maiden name is 'babyblooz'

My missus had one of these scam vaccine emails. She recognised it immediately and deleted it. Giveaway was her name wasn't quoted and in any case, she knew that emails like that would come from our Doctors Surgery (and then she would phone them rather than give details by replying).
