Nhs vaccine scam email.

Got a text on my phone about booking a vaccination appointment, and according to the website that gives you an approximate time window saying from 29th Jan, so anytime from now, I thought, right thisis it and started to fill in my details, name, address d.o.b. and mothers maiden name. Then it asked for card details so of course then I realised its a scam and quickly deleted it. I actually could kick myself because I'm well aware of this scam but because I'm on my phone rather than laptop (needs fixing) I couldn't see details of sender (which I always check). What can I/should I do now as I feel like I've proper messed up by not realising in time? I am so so cross with myself right now, I can't even think straight! It's not like I can change my details like I can a password! So angry with myself. Any advice?
:hello:  please play nicely children !

Not much you can do but don't blame yourself and be angry, at least you stopped before they got any money from you.
All I would suggest is:
1. Find out how to check email addresses on your mobile email client - most of them like Gmail / Apple / Android - if you just tap on the sender name it will reveal the details of the sender. EDIT: Realised you got a text message?
2. Also find out how to check web url addresses from your mobile phone browser - again most likely just tap / hold on the name of the website at the top of your browser.
3. If you haven't already, sign up to a free credit reference agency to keep an eye out for any unusual activity such as accounts being opened.
4. If you have any online accounts that use your mothers maiden name as a backup security question, change it to a different security question.1 -
Hang on, you said you "quickly deleted it", so does that mean you didn't send any reply at all? If so, I can't see there's anything to worry about.2

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I deleted it at the point bank details were asked for but I had submitted my name address dob mums maiden name etc. a page at a time. It this I'm most worried about.:hello:  please play nicely children !0

You will not have submitted anything unless you had filled all the pages in and sent 'send' or whatever they asked you to confirm so they could take the money.0

Oh I really hope that is right! It's so hard to think rationally when you are upset. Thank you for your responses everyone. I am feeling a bit better now but still so blimmin' angry with myself. I was a bit preoccupied to be fair, my daughter is front line social care and she had the vaccination yesterday and she has been feeling poorly with it so I was fretting a bit. Thanks again!:hello:  please play nicely children !0

If the GP surgery sends you a text message advising you that you can book a vaccination slot they send you a web address which is specific to you only. When you click on this link you are connected with the NHS booking server which does not require you to enter anything except your choice of ten-minute 'slot' from the ones it has offered you, initially on two adjacent days.

I agree that it's unlikely that any data has actually been sent but it's probably safest to work under the assumption that it actually has. The advice given earlier in this thread is good - change your passwords/security info if you use any of the details you input into the site. Read up on internet security and turn on 2FA on absolutely everything that you are able to. I'd also suggest keeping and eye on your credit files (all 3 CRAs) on the off chance accounts start getting opened down the line. Even if nothing comes from this, you'll be setting yourself up to be better protected in the future.babyblooz said:Oh I really hope that is right! It's so hard to think rationally when you are upset. Funny that, because at 7.45 this morning the HMRC rang with a final warning or they are going to send the police.0

We don't get many cold calls, but I got the 'HMRC arrest warrant' one last week.parcival said:Funny that, because at 7.45 this morning the HMRC rang with a final warning or they are going to send the police.
Great fun! I started by saying that that was wonderful news, because I could do with a few bob. I could sense the confusion over the line.... Gathered their wits to tell me that it was me who owed them money, not the other way round, and that if I didn't pay now the police would be sent to arrest me.
Told the caller that I was a retired tax accountant, and that I didn't owe them a penny. And did they know how much I could sue them for for wrongful arrest? They hung up on me
